Additional Information
Registration Fee
Registration fees must be paid in full at the time of registration. We accept checks by mail or credit cards online. Following your registration and payment, you will receive a confirmation email from SPPS. You will not be registered for the course until payment has been received.
Waitlist
If your chosen class is at full capacity, you will be offered the opportunity to join a waitlist or select a different class. If spots become available, individuals on the waitlist will be contacted in the order they were added.
Cancellation
If you wish to cancel your reservation and receive a full refund, cancellations must be made at least 7 days prior to the class date. Cancellations made less than 7 days before the class will incur a $42.50 cancellation fee. This policy helps ensure classes remain full for our instructors and prevents waste of supplies.
Location
Classes will be held outdoors under cover. Please be aware that this is a historic site with uneven ground and hillside terrain. Due to the gravel and stone surfaces, wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility devices may not be practical on the grounds.
Classes will be held rain or shine unless severe weather conditions require cancellation. Due to the historic nature of the site, restroom facilities are limited to a portable toilet; however, running water will be available for handwashing.
Materials & Supplies
All materials and supplies are included in the course registration fee unless otherwise noted.
General Firing and Glazing Policies
Participants are responsible for labeling their work and are encouraged to photograph their pieces at the conclusion of the course. Clay may shrink as it dries, and glaze colors can change during the firing process.
The firing process involves inherent risks. Pottery may be damaged or broken due to unforeseen circumstances. While we make every effort to handle all work carefully and return it completed and undamaged, SPPS is not liable for broken, damaged, or missing pottery. No refunds will be issued if a student is dissatisfied with the final outcome of their work.
Pottery Pick-Up
Following your course, pottery pieces will be fired. We strive to complete firing in a timely manner; however, the process may take 3–4 weeks due to factors that can unexpectedly delay firing. Once your piece is ready for pickup, you will be notified by email.
Please note that we do not ship pottery pieces or provide packaging materials for pickup. We recommend bringing boxes, packing paper, towels, and/or bubble wrap to safely transport your pottery.
Pieces will be held until the next pottery festival:
- First Saturday in October
- Weekend before Thanksgiving (November)
- Third Saturday in June
Whichever festival occurs next will serve as the pickup deadline. After that date, Stahl's Pottery reserves the right to assume ownership of unclaimed pieces, which may be discarded or otherwise disposed of.
Photography and Videography
Stahl's Pottery reserves the right to use photographs and videos taken during classes or programs for marketing and promotional purposes. Participants who do not wish to be photographed should notify SPPS at the time of registration.
Disclaimer of Liability
SPPS is not liable for personal injuries sustained by participating students while on the Stahl's Pottery site. Students acknowledge and assume all risks of loss, damage, or theft of personal property while on the premises.
No Smoking
Stahl's Pottery is a smoke-free site. Smoking is strictly prohibited under or around any structures, particularly historic buildings.
No Pets
SPPS maintains a no-pets policy, with the exception of service animals that provide personal assistance. Except for service animals, pets are not permitted under or around any structures, including historic buildings.
