A Stahl's Family Christmas

Please mark your calendar for the Annual "A Stahl's Family Christmas" on Friday 11/21 4pm-8pm, Saturday 11/22 12pm-8pm, and Sunday 11/23 12pm-6pm. at the Stahl’s Pottery, Historic property in Powder Valley, Pennsylvania. The event is rain or shine.

This event is rain or shine.

Please note:

  • The site is an outdoor farm with uneven ground.

  • Handicap parking is available.

  • A ramp does lead up to the house museum and a ground level entrance is available into the main potting room.

  • Port-a-potties are available on site, including a handicap accessible toilet.

  • Food is for sale at the Festival.

A Stahl's Family Christmas features:

  • Around a dozen local potters displaying and selling traditional & contemporary pottery

  • Thousands of lights decorating all of the historic grounds turning it into a winter wonderland that will leave the whole family in awe.

  • Tours of the potting sheds and kiln

  • Hands-on potting opportunities

  • An exhibit of original, historic Stahl’s pottery

  • The sale of baked goods & light refreshments

  • Our newest Commemorative Ornament & other SPPS items

Parking is free.
Admission is $5.00 per person; children under 18 are free.

Santa will be at the event all three nights for photo oppurtunites for guests of all ages, free of charge.

A limited number of redware, sgraffito plates commemorating the 25th anniversary of Stahl's Pottery Preservation Society and the Stahl’s Pottery Festival made by Joel Leh, great grandson of Thomas Stahl, are still available for sale.

The book entitled "Stahl's Pottery of Powder Valley" will be available. This book contains an informative history of the Stahl's Pottery, including chapters on Charles Stahl, Thomas and Isaac Stahl, Russell Stahl, and Carrie Stahl Schultz. The book features a 16 page color portfolio of pottery pieces made at Stahl's Pottery and over 75 historic Black and White photographs.

Due to the fragile nature of our potters' exhibits, please leave your pets at home; however, service animals are welcome.

  • Pottery demonstrations

  • Hands-on potting opportunities

  • The sale of baked goods & light refreshments

  • Our newest Commemorative Ornament & other SPPS items

Several of the participating potters will demonstrate turning pottery on the potter’s wheel and other pottery making techniques during the Festival.  Raku pottery demonstrations will be performed periodically throughout the Festival.
